Atelier · Mind

Every memory, connected.

Everything your avatar can say, as one picture: each memory in its body of knowledge, how often it is asked, and how one fact leads to the next. So you see what it knows before a customer asks.

Good afternoon, Mara Vogt

Scintilla’s mind

What the Mind page shows

The numbers on the demonstration above refer to the entries below. Each entry links back to its place on the dashboard.

1

Two views

The cards beside the title switch between two ways of reading her mind, each a miniature of its picture: the cloud, where what belongs together draws together, and the orbit, Scintilla at the centre with her knowledge around her. The tabs on the picture (3a) do the same. The dashboard remembers the choice for the next visit; here, this browser does.

2

Bodies and search

One chip per body of knowledge, with its number of facts: switch bodies off to see the rest alone, and All brings them back. The search lights every fact whose label or text matches, in either view.

3

The picture

Her 94 facts as dots, sized by how many others they lead to, joined by a line wherever she answers one from the other. Hover a dot and it lights with its neighbours, a pulse running along their lines; click to pin it. While nothing is touched, she thinks along one line every few seconds. In the orbit each body is a sector around her face: a click on its name shows it alone, and the rings can be arranged by body, by how often a fact is asked or by how new it is, the dots gliding to their places.

3a

Cloud and orbit

The same choice as the cards above, on the picture itself. The chosen tab is the picture’s own ground and runs into it; the arrow keys move between the two.

4

The thread

Beside the picture, her mind today: how many facts, how many connections, how many lead nowhere yet, and the five most connected. Pin a fact and the panel reads its thread instead: its body, its full text, how often it was asked and when it arrived, and every fact it leads her to, each one a step further. Here you can also take a memory out of her mind; in the demo it comes back when you leave the page.
